CLASSEN at DOMOTEX 2010
Classen brings out laminate coverings for walls and ceilings

The laminate manufacturer Classen is now applying all the advantages of laminate flooring to walls and ceilings as well.
The revolutionary fitting system for which an application for a patent has been made,  was presented to the public for the first time at DOMOTEX 2010.  Once more the laminate manufacturer has demonstrated its extraordinary powers of innovation with this idea.

"The idea of developing this type of system really is a very obvious thing to do given the new generation of laminate formats and decor", is what the product management of the group of companies from Kaisersesch in the Rhineland Palatinate had to say.  "For tile flooring in particular it is in fact the case that they are already continued up the walls to shoulder—height.  With our current tile sizes and decorative stone, for example, it is of course obvious that laminate flooring should be affixed in the same way.  This is how even walls which are shabby can have a clean and uniform finish applied to produce a very attractive result."

Trade visitors to Domotex 2010, staged in Hanover from 16th to the 19th January 2010, had an opportunity to see this genuine innovation for themselves and to be amazed by the results of the unusual vertical laying-technology.
A system consisting of various components for which a patent has been applied allows laminate floor covering to be fixed to walls or ceilings.  Used together with laminate flooring fitted with the Classen-megaloc-rapid-lay system it produces a radical innovation.  " All laminate flooring with Classen megaloc is very easy to fit to walls and ceilings using the new fixing system.  The floor covering is really easy to fit to a mounting rail system by using fixing clips."
Once the fitting rails have been mounted, fitting the laminate floor covering to the wall is no more difficult than laying it on a floor.  The floor coverings are simply placed into position and pivoted  - the typical method used for Classen-megaloc.  And as normal with megaloc, the joint locks with a click.  The Classen sales team at DOMOTEX was confident that, "Customers to whom attractive expensive-looking wall surfaces are important certainly won’t be able to ignore our fitting system in future".

In addition to this, the Classen group has also added new decor trends to their laminate flooring collections again.   According to an employee from the product management team, "Of course we have also improved our award-winning 7 mm Classen styleworld collection with attractive new designs",

"Our new 'soft&silent' laminate flooring incorporating high-performance room sound insulation has been rolled out successfully since the summer of 2009.  We introduced this at Domotex 2009 while it was still under the working name 'Harmony'."
The innovative sound insulation technology called 'Airsolution' ensures room sound insulation in excess of 50%.  It is based upon an air-insulated surface above the HDF backing below the engineered wood backing.   The result is a really quiet laminate.
The laminate specialists at Classen said, "By using the new air solution technology we are cutting out footfall sound effectively right where it is created, that is, above the HDF boards, which actually cause the room sound".

Classen lived up to its status as one of the leading laminate manufacturers in the world at Domotex 2010 as well and once again it presented a large number of interesting new developments.  Once more the Classen group proved that it is still possible to make quantum-step innovations in laminate flooring.
